Business Intelligence Analyst  - SQL/SSIS  

We have a new role, can you provide:  

... consolidate existing static reporting into enticing visual dashboards?
... up-scale single-purpose analytic concepts into flexible re-usable tools?
... design and develop data processes to support better, faster decisions?
... formulate new metrics and share insights in support of our expanding range of digital services?

Successfull profiles will need to be involved in showing opportunity to grow, cost savings, new pricing for new customers etc…..

Main areas of business is software, 3D printing. Digital printing etc. so any understanding or have worked in these spaces then thats a real bonus but not essential.  

We need you to go through the below processes end to end to be sucessful in this role.

  • Manage data model
  • Keep agility
  • Create/design
  • Work with Opco and others
  • Deal with conflicting requirements
  • Must have critical thinking, being able to make the right decision, do the right thing even if sales teams have promised too much

 

MUST HAVE – SQL skills and have strong business relationships skills and examples of what you have done and how that worked within your role.  

SO use SSIS (SQL) – then pull data from various reports, excel and other sources into SQL database, then use modelling tools to be done on top of that. They can look at the data and then use two lenses as per below:

  1. SQL Serving reporting Studio – very static reports
  2. SQL server analysis – where you create a data model, like a kitchen cupboard when you pick and choose ingredients from the cupboard to make different meals

Then use power BI tools to make it look pretty etc

Really need an individual that can attract and get buy in from the business, create engagement, tell a story about how, when, etc relate it to business area stakeholders

Breaking things down and clarifying in laymans terms, working close to them, clear on business impact and the conversation needed to get them bought in to changes.

  • Passionate about business intelligence, data integration, data modeling,

Data manipulation and data management, alongside: 

  • Experienced in handling large datasets with efficiency and accuracy, Must be adept at validating and proving own work.
  • Experience supporting business analysts to define and deliver advanced data modeling needs
  • Relevant experience of performance measurement, management reporting and delivery.
  • Broad capability across on-premise Microsoft data applications (MS SQL Server + SSIS,SSMS,SSRS).

 

  • Process driven individual; Strong ability to manage interdependent processes
  • Detail driven with a passion for data quality and the application of data quality tools
  • Creative and solution-oriented attitude, demonstrating empathy for stakeholder needs, able to propose ideal, next-best or alternate solutions
  • Impeccable communication skills; Can detail complex topics to a mixed audience
